Abstract:
@EN Effects of tetrachloro-[bis(2-chloroethyl) ethylene-diamine-N, N1] platinum(IV), PtCl4(2-CEen) and cisplatin on natural killer(NK) cell activity of spleen cells were investigated. To compare NK cell activity by PtCl4(2-CEen) with that by
cisplatin,
male ICR mice received a single i.p. injection at the respective LD50 of cisplatin and PtCl4(2-CEen), namely 20% LD50(3.3mg/kg and 24.5mg/kg, respectively) or 40% LD50(5.5mg/kg and 49mg/kg, respectively).
Both cisplatin and PtCl4(2-CEen) showed significant and dose-dependent enhancement of NK cytotoxicity against YAC-1 cells. PtCl4(2-CEen) enhanced NK cell activity slightly more at low dose than cisplatin, but at high dose cisplatin showed
slightly
higher cytotoxicity.
